You can watch the sun set over the Cascades from your back porch and be at a downtown restaurant in twelve minutes.
What I pay close attention to when evaluating homes on the butte: lot orientation (south-facing gets the best light and the clearest mountain sightlines), driveway grade (steep lots can be an issue in winter), and whether the view corridor is protected or could be built out by a neighbor.
